Frozen In Anonymity
08/12/04

Frozen in anonymity
The sword still in his hand
His horse still lays beside him
Who was this once brave man

Did he fight many battles
Did he travel many lands
How many people did he slay
When did he die this once brave man

Was he even brave at all
Did he die as he ran away
How will history remember him
Does anyone care anyway

Will anyone remember me
In a hundred years or so
Or will I be frozen in anonymity
Dead with my horse under the snow

Fires On The Mountain
09/14/04

They lit fires on the mountain
They thought it would be fun
To set fire to the mountain
Then run, run and run

The birds upon that mountain
Didn't see it as a lark
As they tried to save their babies
In the fire and the dark

Nor did the snakes and lizards
And the baby rabbits
Who like to play
Their dead and roasted bodies
Can be seen up there today

The once green and yellow mountain
Is now dead and filled with ash
And the wildlife may never recover
Because some fool lit a match

If Pigs Could Fly
10/21/04

A man once said
"If pigs could fly
The price of bacon
Would go sky high"

I have know idea
If this is true
But I bet the price
Of umbrella's
Would go up too

Now if cow's could fly
That would be a sight
You can bet the worry
About pigeon droppings
Would go over night.

And if an elephant could fly
Oh what a balloon
Just think of the cages
They'd need at the zoo

Now if humans could fly
"I know what I'd do"
But the rest of this poem
I'll leave up to you.

Granddad
12/04/04

I got some news the other day
That nearly blew my socks away
It's going to change my life a lot
It kind of put me on the spot

My son and his future wife came in
And on his face a great big grin
They both looked across at me and my wife
And then uttered the words
That are going to change my life
"Your going to be a Granddad
And Mam you'll be a granny"

Well I nearly choked on my cup of tea
Then I got right up and danced with glee
We kissed them both
Then gave them a hug
Then all danced around on the living room rug

We are now the happiest couple
That could ever, ever be
Soon we'll have a grandchild
Then maybe two or three

Who's Counting
02/04/05

Who's counting the dead Iraqis
They are counting bit's and yanks
They are counting bullets and warheads
They are even counting the tanks

But Who's counting the dead Iraqis
Are they even worried at all
It seems as long as bush gets his election
They can stand them all against the wall

So Who's counting the dead Iraqis
I guess it's the brothers, sisters,
Mothers, fathers, daughters and sons
They are counting the dead Iraqis
But they seem to be the only ones.
